I consider myself to be a progressive, creative professional with 15+ years of arts practise. I am a former competitive/semi-professional dancer and have trained in many styles since age 12. Dance taught me about stage presence, power and poise, creating within me the confidence to stand out and perform in front of a crowd. I realised that I could achieve anything I put my heart and soul Into.
During university, I studied a BA in Media Performance which covered: TV/Film & Theatre production, Stage & screen acting, scripting writing, Media theory & research. I specialised in Production Management at The Grove Theatre Dunstable where I assisted with touring companies, developed scripts, managed budgets and production schedules.
My ambition is to use my creativity as a tool to engage & empower diverse audiences. Over the years, I have gained an excellent track record as writer/producer through several successful film and theatre projects under GAP Entertainment & Work in progress. I worked effectively with professional/emerging artists, performers, producers & arts organisations such as Birmingham Rep, Blue Orange, Old Rep and Crescent theatre. Together we were able to bring forth: high-quality performance art, workshops, training, productions and events that challenged preconceptions within the arts and barriers that people from disadvantaged backgrounds faced to taking part in arts activity.
Some of my most notable projects are ‘The G.A.P Kids Show’ (Tv/web series) which was broadcast on Sky TV 2015. Since the pilot series, it has been commissioned for 12 more episodes due to be released this year. Preceding that, two of my original theatre productions ‘The tale of the fatherless’ 2016 & ‘Let God’s children go!’ 2018 both led to national tours upon receiving efficacious reviews. In 2019 ‘The tale of the fatherless’ was commissioned into a film and was nominated for the best feature film at BUFF in 2020 its will be premiere in Birmingham cinemas on 6th June 2021
